A cookie is a small file stored on your device when you visit a website. Here the word also covers similar technologies (the browser's local storage). ShopMyStuff uses very few of them, and none for advertising.
Necessary cookies (no consent needed)
These are required for the site to work and cannot be turned off from the site:
- Signing in to your account (Google Firebase): keeping you signed in and your session secure;
- Your cookie choice: kept for 6 months, after which we ask again;
- Page features: the draft of a listing you are writing, your wishlist and basket, stored on your device only;
- Protection against bots (Google reCAPTCHA) on forms.
Audience measurement (with your consent)
If you click "Accept", we use Google Analytics (and Google Tag Manager, which loads it) to see which pages are visited and improve the site. The cookies involved (_ga, _ga_…) are kept for 13 months at most. If you decline, nothing is loaded and the site works exactly the same.
Signing in with Google or Facebook
If you choose to sign in with Google or Facebook, those services may set their own cookies, governed by their own policies.
Changing your choice
You can change your mind at any time, here or with the "Manage cookies" link at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, the audience-measurement cookies are deleted.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; signing in to your account may then stop working.
